Clive Durose is a leading brand in timber components for the Joinery and Building Industries, providing a range of stock products and specialist services to customers throughout the UK. They have achieved recognition as a highly professional, quality and service focussed supplier. They currently seek an experienced sales specialist for the position of Southern Sales Manager to spearhead ambitious growth plans in the South. Despite the current economic climate there remain numerous opportunities.
This role focuses on Joinery Manufacturers, Builders and Developers and other associated partners within the Construction Industry often involving a consultative sales strategy and developing strong relationships for repeat business. Working closely with members of the internal sales team you will identify existing and new users and develop an effective approach dependent on each industry or application. You should be comfortable visiting clients during the week and have the ability to engage in a highly professional and credible manner and be able to ask incisive questions regarding the use of similar products and use initiative to develop numerous relationships within each client. You should be familiar with proposal creation for products to this industry sector and of course have the ability to competently present the various features and benefits. In particular this role will suit someone with attention to detail, long term planning skills and a collaborative approach.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small proactive team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and prepared to work with a range of new and existing clients to generate opportunities for existing products and services. They will also consider new product and market opportunities.
Specific duties include:-
Identification of business opportunities and development of a stronger customer base, focusing particularly on key strategic market sectors in each region.
Sales pipeline development; pro-actively engaging with new prospective clients/existing clients to generate opportunities for new business. Provide strategic and timely advice on clients, markets and industry sectors to support forecasting and reporting.
Actively participate in and/or lead the coordination of high quality and major tender submissions and subsequent presentations.
Develop and deliver an appropriate sales lead Business Development plan.
Work with Directors and senior management to continue to develop and implement the national BD plan.
Help monitor clients’ objectives and satisfaction plus take a pro-active role in client care and relationship development.
Undertake effective market research and collate market intelligence in terms of business sectors in UK.
Working with our external marketing partners to develop channel communications and strategically support all advertising, public relations and other activities.
Develop marketing information systems; keep records and customer data and provide key marketing information.
Observe, review and report on competitor activity.

Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite to ensure the personal gravitas to establish credibility and influence with clients.
These communication skills shall compliment leadership, planning and motivational skills required to run a sales/customer service team.
A relationship builder who can develop a solid understanding of the clients business and become a trusted interface between them and the company.
The Southern Sales Manager will forge strong working relationships with colleagues and gain internal support for his/her role. Ability to interface with a variety of people across the business is essential.
Personal Qualities: An enthusiastic and committed individual with a genuine and positive approach to teamwork and supporting colleagues .

Experience:
Successful sales track record with credible contacts, where clear, measurable personal and team targets have been established and achieved.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary business to business environment desirable - preferably gained in a manufacturing or product supply business where a degree of technical sales ability has been required.
Experience of working at senior level in a client facing capacity and demonstrable capabilities in business development, sales and customer relationship building.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a proven track record of moving opportunities forward to ultimate success in a similar industry and role plus an ability to work on multiple projects.
IT Skills:
A high level of analytic skills is required. This shall extend to the effective use of MS Word, and Excel.
